Chomping at the bit!

After three weeks inside, our players are ready to see what they can do. Especially when they see other SUNYAC teams (Cortland, Oswego) playing games already. I know that our hitters are ready to face some different pitchers.

We were able to listen to a presentation from John Underwood from the American Athletic Institute last eventing. He gave our players a lot of information about the physiological effects of drug and alcohol use. It was the second time I have seen Mr. Underwood and I thought this time I learned more. I know some of our players enjoyed it, I just hope they take something from it.

Inside Practice

We just completed our second week of practice in the spacious Field House Basketball Arena! We do our best to keep the players working on different aspects of their games.

Our pitchers started throwing to hitters last week and seemed to be throwing the ball well. Our hitters are looking good as well. We really like the new additions to the lineup.

It is hard to know that there are teams already playing around the country. Cortland will be the first team in the conference to play this coming weekend.

Our players are staying active in the community service realm as well. We have had players at the local health center volunteering for Go Red for Women events.

First Week

The first week of Cardinal Baseball went really well. Practice is limited in the gym but from the looks of things, the off season workouts and preparation by all members of the team is paying off. The team is also happy to include many new additions to the roster. A great recruiting year will definitely help the Cardinals in winning a sunyac title. We are looking forward to seeing how this team continues growing together.
